How would he even get out?

What kind of lights are in the fixtures?

Dome lights but he couldn't get out I think he just tried because the top isn't the most perfect we are ordering a new one

Sorry, I meant what kind of bulbs are in there? What are you using for UVB?

Also, you want to know the temp right at the basking area. The temperature gauge at the back of the tank is only measuring the temp right at that spot and not giving you an accurate reading for the basking spot. You have two bulbs over the basking spot, that might be giving off too much heat.

you might consider a CHE lamp for heat at night. the red lights give off light - which can disturb their sleep. CHE's dont give off any light - just heat.

If your house temperature doesn't get below 65 degrees, you do not need heat at night.
