Okay, I’ve had my boy dragon approx 7months and he’s 2.5.
Always been a good eater, and seemingly happy, but the last few days- last week he’s been lying on the floor constantly, constantly lethargic looking, refusing food (both bugs and salad- he’s always eaten both well).

his viv is 5ftx4ft, t5 uvb, dimmer heat with temps of around 30oC basking and 26oC cooler side. (Taken with digital probe). Humidity sits around 30 most of the time.

my first thought was maybe he’s showing signs of wanting to brumate but now he’s stopped using his legs- he is crawling around on his belly.
I’m going to take him to the reptile specialist tomorrow but any ideas? Thank you in advance

Can we see some pictures? Possibly of his poo (if/when he goes) When was ur uvb last replaced? Supplements? What are u using to get temps? A digital probe thermometer is a MUST, What TYPE of uvb is it? Long tubular? Or coil/compact? <~these are BAD, ive attached some pics of things i use. I hope it’s nothing serious :(

I’m using a digital probe, long t5 uvb (Arcadia pro) which I’ve had in there almost 5 months so almost due a change but not quite yet.
He has calcium mixed with vitamins (I’m 99% sure- I buy the bag of calcium from the reptile specialists and they give me the vitamins told me to mix them together and feed 5 times each week so that’s what I’ve always done). I’ll get a pic of him uploaded in a minute.

Where is the UVB ? Inside the tank or top of screen --- distance and placement is very important --- your bulb should not need changed out for another 5 months -- they are good for approx one year --

He eats a mixture of things(usually)- locusts/Mario worms/waxworms/roaches. I tend to buy large roaches and locusts and obviously the worms are just set sizes.
salad wise- I usually change up through the week but in a week he will get: (v small amount ) cucumber, carrot, lettuce and apple (more of-) peppers, kale, celery and blueberries . I often stick a small bit of bearded dragon pellets too but he don’t tend to eat these very often.

When was the last time he went poop? Its possible hes impacted by the locust -- how big was it ? is his poop really watery-- your feeding alot of things that are really hydrating? he needs more greens like mustard turnips or collards the kale is great --- lay off the wax worms and blueberries tho--- blueberries has too much sugar and the wax worms are high in fat and too many and too often can cause long term liver damage --

The locust wasn’t bigger than the space between his eyes… that’s the way I always measure? Wax worms are usually a weekly treat(and I’ve used them last night as he refused everything else ) I think it’s been a couple of days for poop but I’ve just text my partner to find out for sure as it’s his dragon so he will know for sure.
I’ll be honest I don’t know what collards are (I’m in the uk) so I’ll go and google now and see what I find. Thank you so much for your help so far

Ok so distance should be 12-15 inches directly above him-- you mentioned you have 2 dragons? Are they housed together?
Sorry I missed this. I actually have 4 dragons but no they don’t stay together.
he only ever went in with my adult female for breeding purposes.

This is so weird.. can you post a picture of the viv and possibly the room around it that could maybe be triggering something?

I am not sure gonna get some help w/ this-
Here is a reply I got back

if I read correctly the temp. is 30 C for basking .Double check because that's way too low [ 86 F ] so the temp. would need to be around 37 -38 C for an adult. Another question, they said that they used calcium + vitamins together so ask her to show you what calcium + vits are mixed together. The said they use it 5 days a week, but vitamins should be used sparingly and too much D can cause a level of toxicity so they should cut way back, calcium 2-3 X a week at most, vits. only 1 a week.

Hello, I’m so sorry for forgetting to update. It appears the poor baby had a fall within the viv and has hurt his back. He’s spent a week with the reptile specialists and despite his injury he’s otherwise very healthy and still happy. Thanks for your help everyone
