Recently adopted a 2 year old beardie in the last week, loving his new enclosure so far, any advice on substrate other than sand or wood chips gratefully received.

I was using wood chips but have recently changed to carpets, easy to maintain and fairly cheap, I do sometimes use wood chips still but reckon carpets are better.

Tiles are good, easy to clean, had a few n my bear die viv, broke them while cleaning the viv, might get some more myself

I use a felt carpet! I think its great because it's easy to clean and also not expensive. I just rinse mine off and throw it in the washer/dryer when cleaning the tank

I have used my own dyi carpet, pill free micro fiber fleece that I cut to fit my viv. its cheap and washable but I'm thinking of switching to the tile this year. I'm looking for ease of cleaning and disinfection.

I gotta say I love your set up, lots of climbing possibilities. how did you get the wooden shelves on the sides? did you make them yourself? there great.

Thanks very much, yes I did I machined individual pieces out of beech wood with a cnc router then screw them all together to create the steps then screw fixed through the back and the sides
