I'm just wondering if this looks like tail rot that's about to start???

I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure its just the color of his tail. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it gets darker fast and looks like rotting

Sometimes they can go darker before a shed but definitely not tail rot.
