Breathing problems and thick saliva

I am 90% sure it’s a RI. My last rescue had one too and died. Now my male rescue is also making the same breathing gasps and such. I started him on antibiotics tonight, but I’m so worried it’s too late. His heat is all the way up on his basking side, about 108-110 consistently. He has a big tank and eats well- dubias, collard greens, mustard greens. He’s still eating, but not as much. He seems to only be content when I’m snuggling him and the rest of the time his beard is black and he’s struggling to breathe. Any advice??
