Fancy Schmancy. Looks like my Jim and Bob. No idea what "fancy" means My bubba is les colorful and I think I seen similar colors at the pet store labeled "regular". I guess just the Fancy color morph which I perceive and very abundant. Wait till your dragon gets bigger and goes through a...

    Dubai colony start up

Hdrydr31 and I started our colonies about the same time from the same vendor "Brandon". So what I am saying is get with him (six wands) and buy his starter colony and ask to get all small nymphs to go with the adults. 300 smalls sound like a lot but a baby beardie will go through 30 a day.

one year in the books of Beardie husbandry

Finally got around to logging in and updating how this year has gone. Jim was about 5 months old when we rescued him. We had no idea what we were doing from feeding, watering, lighting habitat (geesh what a mess). All the way to today I am the one confident is providing advice on the...

    Bugs for Bearded Dragon?

We estimate Jim to be about a year old. stopped gobbling super worms right after his Partial Brumation. Eats Dubia EXTRA LARGE Nymphs. I get him to eat a super worm every now and then. he used to eat everything off a tweezer. Now only eats if the bug is running away.

Cool scissors. I just rip the leaves into .50 cent size pieces each morning. Pack a container with greens and 5 extra large Dubia nymphs and off to school he goes. Some stray cat ate all my alfalfa out of the planter. ARGH !!!!!! Jim likes the alfalfa plant leaves. Now I have Maple tree...

    Bugs for Bearded Dragon?

Cost can be substantial (reason I came across Jim as rescue) when I started it was 10-15 dollars a week buying crickets etc. than have half of them die. Hated it!!!!! Then got a Dubia colony and cost level out once they started reproducing. Now I have so many I can feed Jim extra large Dubia...

    Worried about new baby beardie

Temps and UVB lights are pretty important . Go to the links caring for dragons and see the list of foods your baby should be eating. What was the pet store feeding, probably should match that. I would think pinhead crickets. Going to take a few days to get adjusted to new home. They don't...

    Veggies?

I have been fortunate to have Dandillions growing in the shady parts of the yard since January. now that temps are in the low 80's we are running out. Just found one hiding today so Jim will have a nice breakfast tomorrow. Care must be taken to make sure no pesticide or weed killers get near...
