    Black tail

Turns out our little guy is as healthy as can be and we’re “doing a great job with him”. The vet had two great “tests” for any future concerns. 1) pinch the end of his tail for sensation and reaction (Rango gave a great shake of his tsil) and 2) look at the underside of the tail (which on Rango...

    Black tail

I have an appointment for him tomorrow with an exotic pet vet. You obviously have a lot of BD experience Sadie but your reply is a diagnosis and treatment (amputation) and to my knowledge, you are not a vet. Plus you were pretty harsh ("if you had posted back when this first started you could...

    Black tail

I think my BD tail is significantly blacker than when we got him a few months ago. He had a black tip but it is increasing up the tail. And, yes, I have correct lighting and heat.

    Flukers crickets

From your previous recommendations, I did get Dubias and BFL from Dubiaroaches.com and they are great.

    Flukers crickets

I ordered crickets from Flukers and when the order came, 1/2 were dead. They issued a partial refund and I ordered more and the entire shipment was dead! Obviously not ordering from Flukers ever again. Anyone have a reliable cricket source?

    Diet Check

Yes, Super worms. When I buy them they are in a "cooler" so I guess I just assumed they should be kept in the fridge. Thanks again Sadie for the info. We set up a calendar at home to keep track of protein days.

    Diet Check

Sadie...Thank you so much. I read your responses all the time so I was happy to see you help me out as well. I just placed an order via Flukers for crickets and super worms. Also bought some food for crickets. I have a cricket keeper but have been having a hard time keeping them alive so...

    Diet Check

We've had our 18 month old BD for about 6 weeks now. He has settled in very well and seems to like us just fine. We adore him! We have corrected all issues with his vivarium and he now has correct UVB and heat. We keep him clean and tidy and his home free of debris and "messes". Initially he...

    A new kind of lazy...

He does an amazing "side-eye"! What a handsome guy. I also love his enclosure, looks so natural. Can you post some more pics of his home. The floor by his cave looks like pieces of shale with sand?

New Dragon Mom Question about eating (or not eating)

I knew right away he had inadequate heating. The previos owner had a small heat bulb and a regular light bulb in a double light fixture. We got him a mercury heat bulb and now the temp is a balmy 100 degrees in the hot end and about 75 in the cool end. From what I have seen he’s very happy with...

New Dragon Mom Question about eating (or not eating)

I adopted a BD a week ago. He is 1 1/2 or so I am told. His owner told me he "loves" kale and got crickets and/or superworms once a week as a treat. Since arriving in our home, he has refused kale, seemed to like a bit of orange pepper one day then refused since, refused all other offerings of...
