Caring for Rosie the college bearded dragon

I had to giggle when you said she only takes it when you feed from tweezers. Dragons are funny like that - they are terribly messy eaters and also tend to be somewhat picky. Are you offering the greens before the insects? If the dragon sees she’s going to get insects, she will have no interest...

    PLEASE HELP. I don't think it's a sperm plug.

As a tip, regularly soaking your dragon helps avoid impaction and allows for the sperm plugs to loosen a lot easier. Hope that he is doing much better and having an easier time with those pesty plugs!

Caring for Rosie the college bearded dragon

How often should I give baths? You can’t “overdo” baths, so don’t worry about overbathing. Depending on Rosie’s age and whether she is shedding or not, she should soak 2x per week (dragons get their hydration through absorption). If she is shedding, It’s also a good idea to mist her at least...

This is a male dragon right?

He’s a bit young to know with 100% certainty, however I’d say there is a 95% chance you have a male. At about 6 months he will start to pass sperm plugs in his poop, and then you will know for sure. Hope this helps!

Help me...... My beardie HATES water.

This is a fantastic tip! My beardie is the opposite and loves water, but I find that putting an artificial aquarium plant and a surface with traction at the bottom of his bath tub does help with his comfort level. Your dragon may benefit from having something to “hold on to” in his bath as well.

    Possible sperm plug?

Seriously! I have video as well. I have dealt with sperm plugs on iguanas, but they are external. When a beardie sheds his they look the same as when they shed their nostrils. It a long tubular formation.

    Possible sperm plug?

I recently had this happen with my 5 month old beardie. I happened to catch him pooping them out and sent the images and video captured to our highly experienced reptile vet. She confirmed they were plugs and then asked if she could use the video to help teach non-exotic vets more about anatomy...
