I use carpet sprinkle too lol. box sorta resembles baking soda lol. I have never heard of this... You do still feed insects right?? Not as the main diet, unless it is a baby.

Thank the lord you found her! I would check to see how she might have escaped. If necessary, get a new cage. Where was she also? How did you find her? :D
If you want a "Loose" substrate easier on her nails, I would not recommend sand! I would get reptile-safe dirt, packed tightly. This can work and if she were to get impaction, it would be a very low chance if it is packed right.
