I have only had Pancake, my beardie, for 3 days now but I have already noticed something. Compared to my little leopard gecko, she is a TANK. I've never owned a beardie this old before (I raised my ex's from a juvenile then break up happened) and I honestly didn't know how MASSIVE these guys are. I pick up Erume', my leo, and she feels like a feather now.

To me, this is great. Closest thing to an Asian water monitor I can have where I am (eventual goal). Im not as terrified of her hurting herself and the weight is comforting to me.

I'm curious though, are there any other small reptile owners out there who went from small critters to these meatheads and found it to be an adjustment? Or anyone who was legitimately surprised like I am, even after tons of research, at the size of these awesome creatures?

Yes they are a tank! I picked up my girl today and I just felt the weight hanging on me. I have a crested gecko and some whites tree frogs and they are little wisps compared to the dragons.
