I'm using Firefox now. It didn't register me as "logged in" and when I clicked on the "login or sign up" link, nothing happened, no "page loading" indication.

Interesting. Can you take a screenshot or copy/paste the exact error?

It just wouldn't do anything when I tried to log in. Again, it's IE11 beta preview release so it's almost certainly not supported yet. But I was surprised it didn't do anything at all.
Enabling "display scripting errors" I see:
You might fix it by taking an update to jquery looks like. I'm a web developer so lemme know if you need guidance.
