Bearded Dragon Egg

My beardie, Captain, is about 10 months old - hatched June 20, 2016. We got him from a very knowledgeable family owned pet store in November. He's been pretty active all through the winter and eating a lot. Until recently he always went crazy for live food - mostly roaches but sometimes crickets and occasionally various worms. Never got him to eat much veggies but he would if he was hungry enough.
About the last month to 6 weeks he started hiding under his log more and more. I bought him a cave-like structure and he went in there and loved it. Scratched around for a day or so and then almost never came out. I finally saw him on top of the cave the other day (more like on the side of it but outside of it) and I was a bit excited until I realized he didn't move from that exact position for about 24 hours. Then he was back inside the cave.
Also in the last month he's not excited about insects and never eats from his dish. He'll eat the roaches but only when they come close to him.
I know adult dragons brummate but it's spring time already. The pet store asked me to bring in my UVB to test it which I'm doing later today. Would a weak UVB cause him to start brummating even though the daylight hours are getting longer? (There are windows in his room).
