    exo-terra adult bearded dragon enclosure.

Those kits are crap. I, along with almost everyone I've talked to about beardies, end up replacing everything in those kits. The sand is no good, the red light shouldn't be used, the wattage wasn't even strong enough so I replaced the lamp. The calcium it comes with doesn't have vitamin D, etc...

    New tank equals temp troubles

I just upgraded our tank. It is 36L x 17W x 18H. I've got a 100w basking bulb as low as I can above mesh screen, but temp didn't even hit 90. (UVB isn't hooked up yet, but it won't change temp much.). The light fixture I have is a dual dome. I could add another bulb (say 50 watt?) and run both...

    UVB lighting

I'm super confused. The more I read about lighting the more confused I am. I recently installed a reptisun 10.0 T8 24". I'm still in a 20 gallon tank (about 28" long) but am looking for a tank to upgrade To. Is this light ok in my tank until I upgrade? And I think I'm understanding that the t5...

    Are his ankles ok?

Hey y'all. So, update: Turbo is on daily liquid calcium above his normal powder. He is also getting weekly vitamin D injections once a week for a month. His body looks better and he's moving around, but he doesn't have an appetite. I'm taking very seriously the advice about not syringe feeding...

    Swollen Legs?

Based on MY current situation, you need a good vet with super vitamins/meds now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Are his ankles ok?

Thanks Patsy. Turbo has never eaten from my hand, but I'll give it a try. Even when I first got him I'd put food on my finger and he wouldn't take it. I put it in his bowl and he eats no problem. We will definitely do an X-ray in a few weeks if the treatment looks like it's working. And vet did...

    Are his ankles ok?

We're gonna give this a try. Doctor says in his experience if it's caught early enough, he's got a 50/50 chance of improving. I've just to try to find peace that I'm doing what's in my control to keep him comfy and hopefully healthy again. Thanks for your support. Sent from my iPhone using...

    Are his ankles ok?

We did not do X-ray or blood test. He said for mbd or gout he would do the same medication regiment to see if it helps. He said tests would give us a range of where his disease is in the process, but because we decided to start these meds regardless, we'll see how he reacts. Sent from my...

    Are his ankles ok?

We are using a reptisun 10.0, it was just one that sits on the screen. So same light, I'll just have it mounted inside. I have to syringe feed the calcium. It's a high dose calcium in liquid form. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Are his ankles ok?

So vet went ok. He's pretty certain it's MBD. He says it's possible because of where I bought him from, he could have already had it but the good care he's gotten has masked symptoms. We are going to try calcium glubionate and vitamin D injections for a month and see how he responds. He was...

    Are his ankles ok?

Vet appointment in 2 hours. Today's the worst day. I feel horrible. Of course I've been doing my own research and it looks like there is such a thing as too much protein, specifically Dubias. What the hell?! I've always read and been told to feed them as much as they want in 10-15 minute span...

    Are his ankles ok?

So I came home today to swollen front ankles. I'm resigned to gout and it's breaking my heart. I'm reading many articles online and getting different opinions of what to do. Does anyone here have recommendations based on experience? Poor guy is only 6 months old and if he's going to be in pain...

    Are his ankles ok?

Thanks, Patsy. His left leg is tender if I gently squeeze it, but the right doesn't seem to be. He's not very active when I bring him out, but he is walking better. Thanks again for your help and input. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Are his ankles ok?

Here's updated photos. It seems to be it's just his rear left leg. So I'm hopeful he's healing. I read that soft tissue damage is a slow recovery so I'm trying to be patient. He's eating a going to bathroom daily. Thanks for all the help and recommendations...oh, and I took all his climbing...
