today i was cleaning out Kyuubis tank and had him on my bed. he was just chilling there. out of no where my cat jumped up and grabed him :( before i new what was going on she was taking off, running with him biting and scratching at her.

i got him out of her mouth and he took off in my room. after a small seach i found him.

he looks to have small cuts on him back, very small. the only major injury i see i on his head just beside his right eye where a hole it, it had yellowish colored ooze coming out of it but it has stopped. he will not open that eye though.

i did not see any blood and checked him over as best i could, he had his beard black for hours.

i think its a waiting game to see if he makes it, no vets anywhere close will take him due to his small size.

That is tough to hear,
smiley-sad.jpg

I always Caution about cats being natural predators, too many respond, 'Oh they get along Great' then something similar to this happens. I realize this was an accident, but lesson learned. Bathe & thoroughly clean, then put some neosporin or polysporin on the wounds to help stave off infection. Cat bites are very dangerous. I had an injured kitten bite my thumb, swelled up like a Balloon for a week, had to get anti-biotics, etc.

I wish you & Kyuubi the best & hopefully a speedy recovery. The are hardier than we think, at times.

Good Luck!

got a hole in his head and cant seem to see crickets right now. he is missing them by alot when striking.

i think his eye(s) may be messed up.

i am going to have my door shut from now on at any time i am not going in or out of it. the cat is not supost to be in my room any way.

its not the cats fult, its in their nature. just hope kyuubi is going to be ok.

i think in 48 hours if hes not dead then we are in the clear.

& you don't have a top on your enclosure either, do you?

i do now. i have a slab of ply wood covering just in case she gets into my room. i think im going to get some oven racks and make some to fit it so the all my lights dont ge blocked by a screen.

Just keep an eye on that wound, if it starts getting pussy or swelling get Kyuubi to a vet. Let me know how he heals up, I'm worried about him! Unfortunately you're going to have to wait til the shed has been over for a while to be sure. Can you post pics of the owie?

i will try and post a picture tomorrow though hes so smal its hard to see without holding him real close to your face. i cant tell if its a stab wound or a scratch, i hope a scratch as thats the lesser of two evils.

Very true. A camera can zoom in where the eye wouldn't normally see as much though.

its going to be over his right eye, so look at it from his point of view. it looks orangeish in a few of the pics.

Man, i'm sorry to hear about this.. you should take these photos into your 'Paint' program and circle the area where the wounds are at.

He is doing much better. He is now keeping both eyes open like he normally would. He has a small dark spot where he was bitten but other then that he seems to be doing fine.

He's eating, pooping, drinking all normal.

That is awesome! Yeah, I can't see it in the pics either. I'm glad he's doing better though. I would hate to hear that Kyuubi was permanently injured, I love the little guy and I've never even met him.

It is so good to hear he is doing well. He sounds like he is doing his normal 'daily' things.
